Leslie Goldman, MPH

Leslie Goldman, MPH, is an award-winning Chicago-based health and medical writer, specializing in women's issues. A regular contributor to the Chicago Tribune for a decade, she has written for Health Magazine, Women's Health, Shape, Self, People, Redbook, Runner's World, and more. She earned her Masters degree in Public Health at the University of Illinois-Chicago and Bachelors of Science at University of Wisconsin-Madison, which recently named her to its inaugural "Forward Under 40" list, which highlights the top 20 UW grads under the age of 40 making an impact in the state, nation and beyond.


Andrea Metcalf

Andrea Metcalf is a nationally recognized fitness expert and a popular media personality. For more than 25 years Andrea has inspired people from all walks of life to feel better and move. As a leader in the fitness industry, Andrea has excited media widely, resulting in appearances on CNN Headline Newsmakers, CLTV and WGN-TV Chicago and weekly on NBC 5 Chicago as a member of the NBC5 Fitness Team. Dave Mellish
Dave Mellish implemented simple changes in his diet and began exercising every single day. It began as a fifteen minute walk and culminated on Oct. 7, 2007 by running the Chicago Marathon. In the past eighteen months he has lost nearly 150 pounds and dropped his body fat to 9.1 percent.

Now Dave is a personal trainer at MBC Fitness and a certified SPIN instructor. In addition, he is now one of the instructors for the "Well Centered" weight loss class that he was once a student of and looks to help others achieve the weight loss and personal gratification that he experiences everyday.

Joanne Rusch tipped the scale at 217 on April 1, 2000 when she gave birth to her first and only child. Six months later, struggling to lose the maternity weight she had gained, Joanne was cast as a member of Good Morning America's first Lock the Door, Lose the Weight series, which aired throughout November of that year. By the fall of 2001, she had traded her size 16 closet in for a new and improved size 8.

Joanne created an inspirational Web site, Scaleitdown.com, to share her GMA experience, self-published a series of cookbooks, coached weight management strategies,and penned her own column, "Find your Fit", for Chicago Wellness Magazine, of which she is now the editor. In Joanne’s other role as "Food Cop"she explores new products and time-saving cooking tips for NBC 5 Chicago News.
